Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Ekteb mobile app for iOS and Android (the “App”), provided by Ekteb (“Ekteb”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, accessing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The service

Ekteb is a media-monitoring and content platform. The App lets you follow video and article feeds and use tools to transcribe, translate, subtitle, summarise and edit content. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for keeping your sign-in details confidential, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@ekteb.ai if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use the App in breach of any applicable law or regulation;
upload or publish content that infringes the rights of others, or that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful or misleading;
try to access accounts, systems or data that are not yours, or to bypass any security measure;
copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the App, except where the law expressly allows it;
scrape, overload or disrupt the service, or access it by automated means without our permission;
resell or sublicense the App or access to it.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create or upload. You grant Ekteb a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process and display that content solely in order to provide the App to you. You are responsible for holding the rights needed for any content you upload, and for how you use and publish what you produce with the App.

5. Third-party content

Feeds in the App show and link to material from third-party sources. That material belongs to its owners; Ekteb does not endorse it and is not responsible for its accuracy or availability. Your use of it, including republishing it, is your responsibility under the applicable law.

6. AI-generated output

Transcripts, translations, subtitles and summaries are produced automatically and may contain errors or omissions. Review them before you rely on or publish them. They are not professional or legal advice, nor a verified source of fact.

7. Intellectual property

The App, its software and design, and the Ekteb name and logo belong to Ekteb or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the App on devices you own or control.

8. Paid plans

Some features may require a paid plan. The price and terms of any plan are shown before you buy. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are billed and managed by Apple or Google under their own terms, including cancellation and refunds. Plans for organisations may be governed by a separate agreement.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or puts the service or other users at risk.

10. Disclaimer

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Ekteb is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. App stores

These Terms are between you and Ekteb, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and are not responsible for any claim relating to it. Your use of the App must also comply with the terms of the store you downloaded it from. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date shows when they last changed, and we will tell you in the App before any material change takes effect. Continuing to use the App after that means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Ekteb is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
